Busy, busy, busy

Well, the fact that I haven't managed to blog since April shows that life with three under 5 is pretty hectic!

So, the first big family news is our blog should now be called "At home with the five of us" Phelan Edward Nightingale arrived on 27th May weighing a healthy 8lb 3oz and 51cms. He had a very speedy arrival and was with us in just over an hour!

Love at first sight...

...for both of them!

Six weeks after Phelan was born, we all headed to the UK for Terry's brother's wedding, we had a lovely two weeks, catching up with everyone and enjoying a bit of warm weather and a break from the SA winter.

Phelan was unwell when we got back from the UK and ended up in hospital. He was struggling to breath one night and we had to call an ambulance, he's all good now, growing fast and enjoying his food.

We have celebrated both Quinn's 3rd birthday...

a vehicle themed party

...and Darcy's 5th "London Bridge" birthday

Darcy has 5 weeks of Kindergarten left until the big summer holidays and then he will be starting school. I can't quite believe it is that time already, it is going to be very strange with him at school every day, Quinn is going to miss him ALOT and I am trying to adjust to the fact that he is going to be with another adult for more hours a day than he's with us. He has had his uniform fitting and starts his school visits in the next two weeks.

Quinn goes to playgroup every Monday, while Darcy's at Kindy and he LOVES it, he would love to be starting Kindy but he has another year at home with me and Phelan first.

Until I get chance to blog again....

April Already....

I can't quite believe that it is April already and I haven't updated anything on here for over 3 months...better late than never...

Darcy has just finished his first term of Kindergarten, I can't believe he is already a quarter of the way through his Kindy year, it's gone so quickly. He's settled in really well now, he's made some good friends and loves his teachers and all the new things he is learning. We are very proud of how he is doing.

Quinn and I have been enjoying some precious 1:1 time before baby number 3 arrives. It's lovely to be able to have some time with just the two of us, as Quinn and I have never had that before now, so it's very special.

We've been up to a few things over the last few months, we enjoyed the warmer weather down at our local beach and found a great spot for the boys, with lovely, shallow, warm pools of water, which they loved.

We ticked off one of our Staycation activities and FINALY visited the MV Rail, which is a miniature railway that goes through the bush. It was really good and the boys had fun riding round on all the different trains.

Me and the boys headed to Urimbirra Wildlife Park for a fun day feeding the animals, Darcy was a bit of a Kangaroo Whisperer while we were there. Quinn was a little more hesitant, but they still both had lots of fun.

"Tiny" is continuing to grow bigger by the day, we've just hit the 33 week mark, so it won't be long now...

Silly Season!

We have had a few things on over the past month, getting together with friends and getting ready for Christmas.

Darcy had his pre entry visits to Kindy, which have helped him get used to all the teachers and the new environment, it has been a bit of an adjustment for all of us but he is excited about starting at the end of January.

We had a great weekend get together with Darcy's "baby group" at the SAPOL Road Safety Centre in Adelaide, it's well worth a visit if you are in town.

We decided to make a bit of a day of it, seen as we were in Adelaide and caught the tram into the city and took the boys to see Father Christmas at Myer after our picnic with everyone. It was a long day, but great fun and the boys lasted really well considering we left the house at 9am and didn't get back until 8pm!!!!

We had a weekend of pageants with the Victor Harbor Pageant on Saturday and the Goolwa one on Sunday, finishing with fireworks, Quinn LOVED the fireworks and has told everyone about the "BANGS that make other people jump"

We had fun with some Christmas crafts in the week after school finished, my two little Mr Makers!!!

Oh, and we had a little trip to see Paddington at the movies, which was such a GREAT move, we all loved it!!!

We had a lovely get together at George and Gary's house the weekend before Christmas, and I got to have a go at making some strawberry Father Christmas people.

And finally, it was Christmas Day, the boys had a great time. Darcy just wanted to OPEN OPEN and OPEN present after present, there was no savouring each gift this year!!!! He was so quick that Quinn was left with heaps to open and Darcy was all done. We now have a house full of Lego to play with...

We hope you all had a happy, healthy and fun festival season and we send you all our love and best wishes for the new year and 2015.
