Friends...

The last two weekends have been spent in the company of different friends and it has been thoroughly enjoyable.

Over the past 7 years in Australia we have met a variety of people from different places and walks of life, some, although still friends, have come and gone but others we have really clicked with and they have become part of our lives.

Moving to the other side of the world in your late twenties and leaving behind friends and family with whom you share a history is hard; and forming meaningful friendships from scratch is something that takes time. I feel we are now at that stage, where our friends here in Australia are beginning to have that shared history we left behind in the UK. Most of us met either before children or as new parents and are now moving through the adventures of parenthood together and enjoying watching our children form friendship bonds of their own.

A few quotes about friends:

I think if I’ve learned anything about friendship, it’s to hang in, stay connected, fight for them, and let them fight for you. Don’t walk away, don’t be distracted, don’t be too busy or tired, don’t take them for granted. Friends are part of the glue that holds life and faith together. Powerful stuff. – Jon Katz

Wishing to be friends is quick work, but friendship is a slow ripening fruit. – Aristotle

Be slow to fall into friendship; but when thou art in, continue firm & constant. – Socrates

Here's to friendship, making time for each other and enjoying the simple pleasure of other people's company x

And a couple of cute picture to finish off a blog about friends...
